Privacy Policy — Laktic Pace Calculator

Effective date: September 9, 2026

Publisher: Laktic

Laktic Pace Calculator is a threshold pace calculator. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does with information on your phone. The short version is the same four lines printed at the bottom of the app:

What the app stores on your device

Everything you type stays in the app's private storage on your phone:

None of this is sent to us unless you choose to sign in (see "Accounts" below) or send us feedback (see "Waitlist and feedback" below). Without an account we run no server for this app and cannot see anything you enter. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in your phone's settings, deletes all of it.

Location

When you tap "Get conditions", the app asks your phone for its location. That location is used for one thing: to ask the Open-Meteo weather service for the current temperature and dew point at that spot. The coordinates are rounded to four decimal places (about 10 meters) and sent to Open-Meteo over an encrypted connection. Open-Meteo is a free, open-data weather service; its own privacy policy is at https://open-meteo.com/en/terms.

We never receive your location. The app does not use location in the background, does not track where you go, and does not attach your location to any identifier.

Location is optional. You can search a city or ZIP instead (the search text is sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service to find coordinates), or tap "Enter manually" and type the temperature and dew point yourself, and the app never asks for location at all. You can revoke location permission at any time in your phone's settings.

Roster: athlete names and PRs

The roster is stored only on your device. The app does not upload it. Three actions move roster data off your device, and each one happens only when you choose it:

Treat exported files and share links as you would any document containing athlete names.

Accounts (optional)

You can use every feature of the app without an account. Signing in is optional and exists for one reason: to keep your roster the same on all of your devices.

If you sign in with Google, Apple, or an email link, we receive and store:

This is stored in a database hosted by Supabase in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, and protected so that only your account can read your rows. We use it only to sync your data between your devices. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it for profiling. Sign in with Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real email; that is fine.

You can sign out at any time; the roster on your device stays. You can delete your account from inside the app ("Delete account" in the Roster section). Deletion is immediate and permanent: the account and every cloud row tied to it are removed. Data saved on your own device is not affected. If you also use Laktic Running with the same login, deleting here removes only the Pace Calculator data; your Laktic Running account is kept.

Waitlist and feedback (optional)

Two small features send a little more to us, each only when you choose it. If you are signed in and tap "Tell me when it opens" in Resources, we store your email and the topic you asked about so we can tell you when it is available; that row is deleted with your account. If you use "Send feedback" at the bottom of the app, we store your message, an optional email if you give one, and the app version and screen it came from, so we can read it and reply. Feedback that includes an email is kept until you ask us to delete it. When you delete your account, your feedback is anonymised: the message is kept, without your email or account id.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@lakticrunning.com. Deleting your account from inside the app removes your cloud data immediately without needing to write to us.

What we do not do

Children

The app is intended for coaches and athletes and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Without an account nothing is transmitted to us. Accounts are meant for coaches and adult athletes; you must be at least 13 to create one, and we do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. Rosters are entered by coaches. Athletes never get accounts, are never contacted by us, and never have anything sent to them. When adding athletes to a roster, use a first name and last initial rather than a full name. Coaches who enter minors' names into a roster are responsible for how they export or share that roster.

Health disclaimer

Paces shown by the app are training guidance calculated from the numbers you enter and the weather. They are not medical advice. Use judgment in extreme conditions, and stop running if you feel unwell.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at the same URL with a new effective date.
